YMMV / Super Hero Taisen GP: Kamen Rider #3

Go To

  • Awesome Music: Kamen Rider Sangou's theme, "Who's That Guy?", which perfectly fits the mystery of who the heck he is, and is even performed by his actor. And it's pretty damn catchy too.
  • Fridge Brilliance: Crossing over with Fridge Horror, but Kamen Rider Leangle is that's a high ranking executive. Now remember that a large plot point in Blade was that the Spider Undead was imperfectly sealed, allowing it to possess Leangle and influence him. It makes sense he's a high ranking member if Shocker didn't so much mind control him as put Spider entirely in control as unlike the other Shocker Riders Spider actually is evil and thus more reliable than the brainwashed Shocker Riders.
  • Harsher in Hindsight: Remember Kenzaki/Blade's infamous "Have you betrayed us" line? Well, in this movie Blade acts as a decoy to lure the heroes into Shocker's hideout. That's right, Blade betrays his fellow Kamen Riders.
  • Hilarious in Hindsight: In the opening of Agito's TV series we can see him cruising along the track of Twin Ring Motegi. This time, Agito is involved in actual race which takes place in the same circuit.
  • Irony: The name of the movie is "Super Hero Taisen GP" - the "GP" part being short for "Grand Prix", which was the name of the episodes in Engine Sentai Go-onger...a team which does not appear in this movie.
  • Moral Event Horizon: Otta in the altered timeline made himself irredeemable the moment he killed the Chief by throwing him out the window! Thankfully his evil self came undone at the end.
  • Nightmare Fuel: The brainwashed Kamen Rider J chasing the heroes. Just the camera angles and situation make for a very unsettling chase.
  • Shocking Moments: The reveal that not only will Shocker have their own Humongous Mecha (Rider Robo), it will fight the combined forces of Kamen Rider J and Shurikenjin! Or just Shurikenjin...
  • They Wasted a Perfectly Good Character:
    • The trailer's implication of J and Shurikenjin fighting the Rider Robo got a lot of fans hyped up, as J teaming with a Sentai Robo has been wanted since the crossovers started, but J gets erased before Shurikenjin even shows up.
    • Actually, this is the feeling towards EVERY character sans Drive, Mach, Kiriko and Kamen Rider 3. The Ninningers were wasted too, but Takaharu, being a spotlight stealer, managed to get some lines while his cousins and sister got almost nothing.
  • Unexpected Character: Seriously, who's even heard of Kamen Rider #3?
    • Tetsuo Kurata, Koutaro Minami of Kamen Rider BLACK and Kamen Rider BLACK RX returned.
    • Yuichi Nakamura, who played Yuuto Sakurai in Kamen Rider Den-O, also returned.
    • All four main characters from Kamen Rider Blade reprised their roles. However, only Kousei Amano (Sakuya Tachibana/Kamen Rider Garren) appeared in person; Blade, Chalice, and Leangle were vocal reprisals.
    • Tobei Tachibana, the original manga version of him no less. Except not — he's actually General Black in disguise.
    • In the Kamen Rider #4 spinoff DVD, Takumi Inui was accompanied by Snake Orphenoch Naoya Kaido!
