• Complete Monster: Nyarlathotep, the Crawling Chaos, fostered a utopian subterranean city After the End to manipulate to open a portal to its realm and engulf the whole world in madness. Foiled by the Valkyries, Nyarlathotep's mind was bound to the Shining Trapezohedron. Through this object, the god attempted to corrupt Eshe, the Player Character who stumbled into the city, so as to finish the profane ritual. In the Embrace ending, Eshe is fully corrupted and fully opens the portal, Nyarlathotep giddy at the madness unleashed. In the Resist ending, Nyarlathotep furiously attempts to destroy Eshe for daring to defy him. A cruel deity that offers hope simply to rip it away again, Nyarlathotep is very much in line with Lovecraft's original — a corruptive force that amuses itself with human suffering.
• Demonic Spider: Hunters in general plague the early game with absurd reach that in addition to dealing decent damage may actively hinder your platforming. They also pack decent health and a delayed explosion AOE that means you have to kill them quickly. They will also spawn often and fast in certain parts of Valkyrie Base.
• Goddamned Bats: The big Meteoroid variants that spawn in the cathedral, which work around your shield by blasting you with a continuous area ranged attack, plus a massive doubled health pool. Not much of a problem on their own admittedly but combined with the very dangerous area hazard and other annoying enemies, they are particular pests.
