- Ensemble Dark Horse:
- Those Two Guys and budding moviemakers Chainsaw and Dave are sixth and seventh in the credits, but might be the most iconic characters.
- Team Pet Wondermutt is better-remembered than many human characters.
- Pregnant Determinator Rhonda is better-liked despite having fewer scenes and a more serious subplot than most of her peers.
- Funny Moments: Chainsaw and Dave's "massacre," planned and executed to scare off Shoop's replacement.
- Harsher in Hindsight: The fake massacre scene played on the then-unlikely prospect of a mass slaughter happening in a high school. Now, after 20 years of school shootings, it's Not So Crazy Anymore.
- Retroactive Recognition: Alan is played by Richard Steven Horvitz, before he became better known as a voice actor.
- Speaking of voice acting, E.G. Daily sang Mind over Matter back when she was primarily an on-screen actor and pop singer before she turned to voice acting as well.
- Romantic Plot Tumor: Neither Pam's Precocious Crush on Shoop nor his Dogged Nice Guy flirting with Robin has aged well, is compelling, or is vital for the plot.
- Signature Scene: The scene where the class uses horror movie special effects to freak out a replacement teacher holds iconic status in the eyes of many genre fans.
