  • First Installment Wins: Though a lot of their earliest material is well-regarded, the debut album is their best known release and generally regarded as one of the iconic rock/punk albums, especially with it containing the famous "Institutionalized".
  • Memetic Mutation: "All I wanted was a Pepsi!"Explanation
  • Signature Song: "Institutionalized" in general, "You Can't Bring Me Down" for their crossover thrash material. To a much lesser extent, "Nobody Hears".
  • Suspiciously Similar Song: Michael Jackson's "Give In to Me" bears a very strong resemblance to "How Will I Laugh Tomorrow?".
  • Tear Jerker: "Nobody Hears"; "How Will I Laugh Tomorrow?".
  • Unintentional Period Piece: While the song's theme of society failing to understand people with psychological disorders still holds up in present day, the lyrical content of "Institutionalized" firmly dates it back to The '80s. Institutionalization for people who're mentally unwell has become decreasingly prevalent past the '80s in favor of pure psychiatric therapy, and the narrator's parents believing him to be on drugs because he's a shut-in is an attitude that's typically attributed to '80s America and the War on Drugs, and has generally become a discredited parental line of thinking.
