YMMV / Steven Universe S2E21 "Catch and Release"

• Alternative Character Interpretation: Was Peridot genuinely worried that the stuff in Steven's bathroom were weapons that could be used against her or was she asking that to see if she could use one of them to escape? Or maybe both?
• Harsher in Hindsight: A lot of jokes have been made about Peridot trying to contact Homeworld and Yellow Diamond while trying to escape Earth. Here, she's shown genuinely terrified and on the verge of a breakdown because something bad is going to happen to Earth soon and she has no way of escaping it.
• I Knew It!: A lot of fans speculated that Peridot's limbs were artificial due to how she used her fingers and their general robotic appearance, as well as speculating that her real limbs are much smaller than her robotic ones, before this episode confirmed it. They probably didn't expect her to be wearing footie pajamas under her legs, though.
• Jerkass Woobie: This episode finally moves Peridot firmly into this category after she has a nervous breakdown over being stuck on earth, loses all her weapons and ends up stuck in Steven's bathroom, and seems to be warming up to Steven the slightest bit. Looks like a Heel–Face Turn might not be out of the question after all.
• Memetic Mutation: The sight of Peridot attempting to flush herself down the toilet was memed to hell and back, usually a looping gif of her spinning in the toilet set to "You Spin Me Round (Like a Record)".
