YMMV / Steve Albini

  • Hilarious in Hindsight: Albini's mockery of CDs as "the rich man's 8-track." CD launched in the 1980s as the expensive audiophile format, and (in the UK at least) frequently cost twice as much as mass-market LPs. CD went on to become the reasonably priced mass-market format for twenty or thirty years. In the 2020s, CD has been superseded by streaming for the mass market, and LP has become the expensive audiophile format, with a faint air of hipster about it.
