YMMV / Star Wars: Tatooine Ghost

Go To

  • Franchise Original Sin: The book has subtle amounts of many of the elements Denning would be criticized for in many of his subsequent Star Wars books: a focus on angsty Skywalker-Solo clan drama, more hints of offscreen sexuality than usual for the franchise, and lots of characters from established works acting differently than in previous appearances. However, in this book, all of those elements actually bolster the story. Leia's angst over Darth Vader being her father and learning about his past are important aspects of her character that fans had wanted to see. Leia and Han being a bit amorous makes sense given that they are recently married and already established to have conceived their twins around that point in time. And most of the reappearing characters are from Episode I and were either Spear Carriers or children in that film, making sense for them to be portrayed in a different light here.
