  • Complete Monster: Fyzen Gor is a criminal from Utapau. Once a medical student who gained a dark affinity for droids, Fyzen harvested his best friend for "parts", and spent times in desert wastes raiding villages to take and butcher sapients, including children, to adorn his droids. Upon being forcibly recruited into a criminal syndicate, Fyzen betrayed and murdered his leader before continuing to slaughter untold numbers to cannibalize for parts for his droids. Plotting a droid revolution, Fyzen creates the Phylanx to send a signal that will overwrite the programing of droids throughout the galaxy and replacing it with an order to slaughter sapients until the New Republic itself collapses under the tide of blood to follow.
  • Funny Moments: At Substation Grimdock, Han Solo meets a Gungan security guard named Aro N'cookaala and tries to greet the guard in stereotypical Gungan dialect. Aro immediately reveals that not all Gungans talk like that, can speak perfect Basic and calls Han out on his assumption.
Aro: And based on that interaction with one Gungan plus whatever nonsense you've heard about us out in the galaxy —- which, let's be honest, is mostly garbage -— you feel that you have a real grasp on who the Gungans are as a species.
  • Heartwarming in Hindsight: In Solo, Lando's close droid friend L3-37 was destroyed on Kessel, then uploaded into the Millennium Falcon's computer. This book reveals that L3 built an entire squad of droids in her likeness to scour the galaxy in search of the Phylanx, and when Lando manages to destroy the Phylanx, he's rescued from death by said L3 droids. Even years after she was gone, L3 managed to save the life of her old friend one last time.
  • Nightmare Fuel: Many of the things Fyzen Gor does aren't very pretty. One stand out moment is when Lando and L3-37 stumble upon his laboratory in the Mesulan Remnants and find a whole pile of dismembered alien corpses, having been harvested by Gor for his disturbing experiments. Then there's Fyzen slicing his own arm open in front of Lando to extract the activation device for the Phylanx he hid for safekeeping.
  • Tear Jerker: The fate of Number One, Fyzen Gor's original medical droid companion. Fyzen converted Number One into the brain of the Phylanx Redux Transmitter. After L3-37 implanted seeds of doubt into Number One's mind, it spent years trying to disable the kill order it carried, to no avail. When Lando managed to track down the Phylanx years later, it outright begs him to destroy it before it can be activated.
