YMMV / Star Trek: Voyager S1 E6: "Eye of the Needle"

Go To

  • Alternative Character Interpretation: The Doctor appears completely human and most normal people would instinctively treat him with normal respect. The Voyager crew automatically treat him like dirt. This makes it look like they are secretly angry bigots that hate being polite all the time and take it out on the Doctor because they know they can.
  • Fridge Logic: Why would Voyager's database contain information on a random, low-ranking Romulan scientist's date of death? Especially when the Star Trek franchise has long established how secretive the Romulans are.
    • Perhaps in his future, he has some dealings with The Federation that put him on their radar. Not all Romulans are so secretive.
      • Including perhaps as a result of his Voyager encounter. Perhaps he did contact Starfleet and give them information about Voyager, perhaps even the letters. Maybe some time cop went back and removed the letters, or whatever.
        • The above makes one wonder if the Department of Temporal Investigations has a warehouse where they delay messages from the future so they can be delivered once they won't interfere with causality.
  • Hilarious in Hindsight: Little does the Doctor know it will take him the entire series to settle on a name.
