• Alternative Character Interpretation: MacDuff is the villain of the episode, but we don't get any information about his background. For all we know, he was honest in his belief that destroying the Lysian base would save lives on both sides of the conflict. We also don't know whether he was acting as an agent of his government or if he was some lone inventor taking matters into his own hands with his own technology.
