• Genius Bonus: Professor Samuel Estragon: As in Samuel Beckett, writer of Waiting for Godot, and Estragon, a character from it. The name somehow works for a character who spent his life chasing a dream that would never be fulfilled.
• Hilarious in Hindsight: The name Vorgon sounds weirdly like a cross between "Vogon" and "Vorlon", despite predating the latter by three years.^note It's possible the name was intended as a Shout-Out to the former, but this has not been confirmed.
• Memetic Mutation: Okay, not to the extent of the famous facepalm, but screencaps of Picard in his beach wear have been passed around the internet quite a bit, with captions like "Set course for intercourse."
