- Accidental Innuendo: Keniclius 5 declares that "Spock is mine. The essence of him is mine." Let's just say that there are a lot of Kirk/Spock shippers who'll violently disagree with him on that point.
- Narm: The villain's master-plan being to create an army of giant Spock clones makes it... difficult for some to take him seriously.
- Older Than They Think:
- Though Leonard Nimoy is often remembered as the first Star Trek cast member to also write for the franchise, Walter Koenig actually beat him to the punch by over a decade. Nimoy was the first cast member to be credited as a writer on something that they actually appeared in, however.
- Also, anyone who thinks the concept of a race of giant clones serving as a galactic paramilitary force is something Shoji Kawamori came up with had better check their dates, as this episode predates Macross by almost a decade.
- Signature Scene: The scene with the giant Spock clone really stands out.
