YMMV / Star Trek: Ex Machina

• Awesome Moments: Spock, having reprogrammed the Oracle, uses it for some well-placed smiting. Not to mention his choice of smiting one-liner.
  Oracle: I am not programmed to respond in that area.
• Funny Moments:
  • Spock, now free to express and feel a little more, gets snarky with Kirk, and borrows a page from Chekhov's book by telling him Vulcans invented the poker face.
  • Uhura plays dumb to allow some guards to be distracted, then reveals all those times in the series she went all "captain, I'm scared!" (despite being a trained professional the same as everyone else) was actually just to motivate Kirk a little harder. And just like that, she becomes one devious operator.
• Replacement Scrappy: Captain Kirk is considered an in-universe one for Willard Decker. A hilarious inversion of the usual method.
  • Likewise, Reiko considers Doctor McCoy this for Christine Chapel.
