YMMV / Star Trek: Discovery S1E07 "Magic to Make the Sanest Man Go Mad"

• Accidental Aesop: If you don't enjoy yourself at a party, then you aren't really human.
• Crosses the Line Twice: Mudd killing Captain Lorca the first time is horrific. The montage of some of the 53 ("Make it 54") times he's killed him – once while calmly eating a sandwich – is hilarious.
• Harsher in Hindsight: Mudd's criminal record, as reported by the Enterprise, approximately 10 years after this episode in-universe: Smuggling, transport of stolen goods, and purchase of a space vessel with counterfeit currency. That's a rather...lenient description, considering in this episode he tries to hijack a very important starship that's crucial to the war effort and sell it to the Klingons, mercilessly killing anyone who gets in his way. However since the events of the episode were undone by an Applied Phlebotinum Reset Button, and only one crew member retained any memory of what he did, it's likely that it couldn't be put in any sort of official report since there was no evidence. There's also the eventual fact that the records of Discovery's missions are covered up by Starfleet, including this one.
