YMMV / Star Trek Deep Space Nine S 03 E 09 Defiant

• Hilarious in Hindsight: Midway through the episode, Tom Riker calls the Defiant a "tough little ship." Later on, in Star Trek: First Contact, Will Riker would say the exact same words about the ship.
• Narm: While the camera pans to his face and dramatic music plays, Riker... removes his fake sideburns and reveals a Goatee of Evil! Which is supposed to confirm he's Tom Riker, not Will. If you haven't seen the Next Generation episode "Second Chances", this comes off as nonsensical, and even if you have, it's still a goofy way to do a dramatic reveal. Especially since there's no reason Tom couldn't have grown a full beard or for "Will" Riker to have shaved his beard into a goatee at some point in the last year.
