• Alternative Character Interpretation: In the Super Smash Bros. episode of "Luigi Time!!!", Mario gets tired of quarreling with Luigi and tells him he's leaving him to go to another kingdom. However, in the Mario Kart episode, Luigi finds Mario in the woods preparing to commit suicide by hanging himself. Did Mario grow depressed over leaving Luigi during his trip and was Driven to Suicide, or was he lying about moving to another kingdom to protect Luigi from the truth?
• Fridge Sadness: Koopa's chapter in the Mushroom Kingdom Storybook, "Koopa and the Three Tasks", could be interpreted as Koopa's way of expressing his fears that he'll never be free from working for Bowser and he'll die a total nobody who never got to fulfill his dreams.
• Funny Moments: Spike's chapter in the Mushroom Kingdom Storybook, "Spike in the Most Amazing Story Ever". Despite the title of the chapter promising a story of epic proportions, the video itself is only about 20 seconds long. Why, you ask? Well, as Spike explains...

• Harsher in Hindsight: Peach complaining about Nintendo never explaining where her parents are in "A Day In The Life Of Princess Peach" becomes less funny when The Super Mario Bros. Movie reveals that her first memory was of her arriving at the Mushroom Kingdom as a baby, meaning she doesn't know anything about them.
• Hilarious in Hindsight:
  • In "Bowser Loses His Memory", when Goomba scolds Bowser for throwing his broccoli on the floor, Bowser says the dog will eat it, to which Goomba tells him they don't own a dog. Flash forward to "Bowser's Jailbreak", where a Chain Chomp, the Mushroom Kingdom's equivalent of an Angry Guard Dog, is forced to become a member of the Koopa Troop.
  • In the Paper Mario episode of "Luigi Time!!!", Toadsworth uses advanced origami techniques to pump some life into Mario after he turns into paper. 7 years later, Paper Mario: The Origami King introduced an advanced origami technique called the Fold of Life that brings origami creations to life.
