• Special Effect Failure: When SpongeBob is talking about how his spatula was forged, live-action footage appears behind him. This also includes a non-transparent JPG of Leonardo da Vinci awkwardly sliding across the screen.
• Unexpected Character: Nobody was expecting SpongeTom, a one-off gag character from "Broken Alarm", to appear in "Spatula of the Heavens".
