  • Goddamn Bats: The flying imps have a nasty habit of showing up in areas containing platforming elements, which makes them hard to hit while they try to knock you into pits (thankfully you don't die from falls, but you do respawn with quite a bit of health loss). Even in areas without pitfalls, these imps have a habit of flying out of your attack range, forcing you to jump to attack (hopefully you didn't impulsively destroy those crates and barrels beforehand, which can serve as an impromptu platform). And NO, for some reason you can't just ignore them and move on, the game allows you to proceed only if you've killed every enemy onscreen. They're no stronger than the usual imps on foot, but they're certainly the most annoying enemies in the game.
