- Too Bleak, Stopped Caring: Despite being a 'Sarcastic Love-Letter to Science Fiction', the dystopian nature of the setting of Rvbomally's Space Cadet makes for an increasingly uncomfortable and unsettling read for many who might otherwise be interested as more about the universe is revealed. All factions and characters are unsympathetic and horrific in some way (to the point that Rvbomally openly confirmed the entire setting is premised in large part on Humans being immutably selfish, limited and flawed), and every entry only shows more and more just how terrible and precarious the state of the galaxy is. While there are considerable amounts of Black Comedy meant to balance it out, some readers find it insufficient to make up for it. It's saying something when some parts of it are bleaker than even Warhammer 40,000 at times - which IS one of the setting's major inspirations.
