• Take That, Scrappy!: Ms. Crabtree being among the victims of the serial killer was clearly intended as this, since she wasn't very popular among the fanbase and had been Put on a Bus for the previous four seasons. The detective's testimony puts it best:
  Mitch: Her name was Veronica Crabtree. Bus driver for the elementary school. She was considered an ancillary character. One the fans wouldn't miss much.
• They Wasted a Perfectly Good Character:
  • For an episode about a serial killer, it's bizarre that Kenny isn't among the victims. The fact that he hardly does anything in the episode makes this decision even more jarring, as his death could'be been the tipping factor that motivates Kyle to pretend having psychiatric powers like Cartman in order to save the day.
  • Though Veronica Crabtree wasn't the most popular ancillary character, the show could've done more with her than just kill her offscreen for a gag on how she won't be missed, especially since the replacement bus drivers are mostly Living Props.
