YMMV / South Park S 22 E 3 The Problem With A Poo

Go To

  • Alas, Poor Scrappy: While Mr. Hankey wasn't the most popular character on the show, his fate of being exiled from the town despite having been its Christmas icon for years is still a little sad to see, even if he did bring that fate upon himself.
  • Alternative Character Interpretation: Heidi was seen sitting near Kyle in the music room. Is Heidi trying to reach out to Kyle to apologize for her mistreatment of him last season? Have the two made up in between seasons and decided to be friends? Is Heidi taking slow steps to reopen the possibility of a relationship with Kyle? Or was it purely coincidence that the two end up sitting in (somewhat) close proximity to begin with?
  • Fanfic Fuel: Seeing Heidi Turner making a first appearance here as her old Nice Girl self since her breakup with Cartman last season can bring fuel for writers of fanfics regarding what Heidi was doing after her breakup with Cartman until this episode. Moments can include the event that led to Heidi managing to lose all of the weight she previously gained, and whether or not she was able to make amends with the people that she had previously wronged.
  • Jerkass Woobie:
    • Sure, Mr. Hankey brought much of his misery upon himself, but it's hard not to feel a little bad for him after he's been ostracized and is forced to leave South Park. Plus, he mentions his wife left him, taking their children with her.
    • Strong Woman acts bitchy for forcing PC Principal to keep his status as the children's father a secret, but the fact that she doesn't want people to view her as weak for letting her boss knock her up makes it understandable why she would act like that.
  • Just Here for Godzilla: Most viewers tuned to this episode just to see Heidi Turner as her skinny Nice Girl self after her break-up with Eric Cartman last season.
  • Older Than They Think: Mr. Hankey's Jerkass behavior isn't anything new. In his second appearance, he admitted to sexually abusing Kyle in his sleep, and his fourth appearance shows him abusing his wife (though given she's an aggressive alcoholic, he takes as much as he dishes out in that regard).
  • Strawman Has a Point: As much as an actual piece of crap he was being, Mr. Hankey himself was right that the PC Babies were clearly disrupting his concert with their continued crying, and everyone attending just let it happen. Furthermore, he states that you shouldn't bring a babynote  to a public event to begin with.
  • Take That, Scrappy!: This episode makes Mr. Hankey an outcast in South Park for his inappropriate behavior.
  • The Woobie:
    • Poor Kyle, once again. He loses one of his best friends and is made a pariah for trying to help someone who's helped him several times before.
    • PC Principal doesn't fare much better, either. He's aware that he impregnated Strong Woman and wants to be a part of the children's lives as their father, but Strong Woman refuses to let him do that since she doesn't want to be viewed as the woman who got knocked up by her boss.
