- They Wasted a Perfectly Good Plot: We never get to find out much about Hannah's other lives besides the first and second, some of which sound quite interesting - she briefly mentions having been a princess, a slave and a warrior. While it's understandable the novel wouldn't be able to go into too much detail on all her past lives to reduce the length (and because it would get repetitive), the lack of detail on her life as a warrior is particularly disappointing, considering that Hannah actually draws on some of her skills from this life to help her in the present and it's quite different from the lives she experienced as Hana and Ha-nahkt (they were both religious figures and pacifists, while her warrior-self was a pragmatic Action Girl).
