• Hilarious in Hindsight: On the cover of the first volume, Sonic's arms are colored blue by accident. Fast forward a couple decades later, and two other versions of Sonic would officially have his arms colored blue.
• Older Than They Think:
  • This manga shows that, at least in supplementary material, humans other than Dr. Eggman were involved in Sonic's world from the get-go.
  • This is the first work to depict the Chaos Emeralds as having a brilliant diamond cut, before it became their default appearance following Sonic 3 & Knuckles.
