• Funny Moments: Urged by Sonic to enhance his vocabulary, Tails borrows Porker Lewis's Dictionary of Out-of-Date Slang, and casually spouts some colourfully varied idioms.
  Sonic: Have you been out near the crashed Wing Fortress recently, expanded vocabulary-type dude?
  Tails: Not on your nelly, sergeant-major.
  Sonic: Properly, please.
• Hilarious in Hindsight: The parts of the book where it mocks Super Mario Bros. for being slow and revolving around rescuing a princess became this in cringeworthy fashion after the release of Sonic the Hedgehog (2006). Two of that game's many, many flaws are Sonic (and Shadow) being nowhere near as fast and agile as they ought to be, and Sonic's contribution to the plot (such as it is) being limited to (repeatedly) rescuing a kidnapped princess.
