YMMV / Sonic.exe The Disaster 2D Remake

Go To

  • Fanfic Fuel: The release of this game got several people conceptualising how other characters, such as Metal Sonic or Lord X, would work in The Disaster 2D.
  • Hey, It's That Sound!: The sample sound effect when you end the round, is taken from Hotline Miami 2: Wrong Number song "Black Tar", which starts when you begin the new game after beating it, where the theme is beginning a new cycle all over again.
  • Memetic Mutation:
    • There are purchasable taunts that are currently exclusive to the killers. One of them is a variant of the JoJo poses, with their hand gestures and visible lettering, which every killer has.
    • Chaos also gets an exclusive drip taunt, that shows him wearing expensive footwear, which can make a vine boom sound effect, or a Pizza Tower taunt sound effect.
  • That One Achievement:
    • Collecting at least six shards in "Ravine Mist" is no easy feat, especially considering that taking any damage for a survivor, Amy in particular for this achievement, will cause their collected shards to scatter, and you need at least six to get the achievement. A saving grace for this achievement is that, during the level, a universal counter keeps track of how many shards all the survivors have, and a number under the HP HUD for survivors logs how many shards they have individually.
    • The achievement that requires you to revive three allies during gameplay will take some work depending on player skills and the amount of time available, and will need you to act fast or have Cream as your playable character to help. In addition, once the Sudden Death event kicks in at the 2-minute mark, which makes all deaths final and blocks out all reviving for the rest of the match, your chance to get the achievement will be squandered if you haven't got it by that point.
    • The achievements that requires you to hit two survivours at the same time. Those also spread to the demonized survivours.
  • That One Level:
    • Act 9 can be quite difficult. The gimmick for this level is that the walls are constantly closing in, and the less survivors are present on the map, the faster it will shrink the level. For the survivors, it will eventually force them into the middle of the map, and they will either choose to resort to the upper-left side of the map to juke the killer with, or below the middle side of it. Eventually, the walls will close into an claustrophobic range, and that only happens by the time the escape ring appears, so the survivors should already be clear out of the map when this happens. Of the four killers, Exetior will have the biggest problem in navigating the level compared to the rest. The map is too small for him to perform his stomp attacks effectively, which will cause his entry to the middle lower part of the map to be met with a lot of stun attacks, and due to the spacing of that spot, it's hard to avoid the stuns. Even his placeable black rings don't save his grace, as they have a cooldown of 42 SECONDS (which means only 2-3 placeable rings for the whole round). And the round timer on this map is too small for him to do any real damage with them, especially with less players. The only way for him to counter this setback would be to target at least one survivor from the start to enslave and assist him.
    • Priceless Freedom, due to the amount of Exetior's deadly rings spreaded across the map, people who are not aware of their presence can die in seconds.
