• Americans Hate Tingle: Some Japanese Thomas fans reacted negatively to this fanfic. This is presumably because Japan has experienced many nuclear disasters including Hiroshima Atomic Bombing (directly mentioned by some Japanese fans), Daigo Fukuryu Maru Incident and recent Fukushima Power plant disaster, and treating nuclear incidents and its victims (Hibakusha) as a subject of horror works considered to be extraordinary offensive.
• Jerkass Woobie: James is even more angry during this whole ordeal. But for many a good reason. Like having to abandon his passengers then getting horrific (and likely painful) mutations TWICE.
• Nightmare Fuel: ALL of the mutations really.
• Tear Jerker: Toby's death. As well as the audio of Jem Cole euthanizing Trevor. And Skarloey also being euthanized.
