YMMV / Sniper Elite

Go To

  • First Installment Wins: Some fans consider this game to be generally more enjoyable than later installments due to its shooting mechanics and the atmosphere of the game.
  • Game-Breaker: The MG42 is agreed upon to be the single most broken automatic gun in the game. With plentiful ammo that can be found in most missions, surprisingly accurate fire, and a high damage, you can slaughter enemy forces in droves if you use the weapon accordingly.
  • Goddamned Bats: Enemy snipers. They have a nasty habit of taking potshots at you and hiding before you're able to target them. And in some missions, they can reveal your position and alert the entire enemy forces in moments in which you are demanded to be stealthy in clearing your objectives!
  • Good Bad Bugs:
    • Enemies will be alerted to dead bodies, but they won't be alerted if they see blood splatters or dropped weapons. This is especially useful during stealth sections, where you are encouraged to hide enemy bodies from being detected.
    • Saving and quitting the game will result in AI difficulty resetting, but you'll still be counted as the difficulty you were playing on. Starting a new mission on the difficulty with the AI setting you want and then loading your save can fix this.
  • That One Level: Level 17 "Nordisq HW Plant" is a giant shakeup as it's mostly close-quarters action inside a factory, you will be fighting alot of enemies at close range where Karl is very much out of his element and even worse, you'll have to backtrack through the entire level as it gets repopulated with enemies meaning it's pretty long despite the small map size.
  • What Do You Mean, It's Not for Kids?: While nobody in their right mind would mistake this as a kids' game, for whatever reason, the Wii version was proudly published by a company called "Maximum Family Games".
