YMMV / Snake Rattle 'n' Roll

• Difficulty Spike: Levels 7 and up make the first half of the game look like cake.
• It's Hard, So It Sucks!: The game often gets even harsher criticism than Battletoads due to the greater amount of Fake Difficulty and often unbearable controls combined with equally sadistic level design.

• Suspiciously Similar Song: Not unexpectedly, an ersatz version of the oldie rock song "Shake, Rattle & Roll" serves as the title theme.
• That One Boss: Ice Foot, the final (and only) boss. Requires a bazillion-hit combo to kill, if you hesitate in your attacks he returns to full strength. Also, there's boulders.
• That One Level:
  • Level 7 has those damned Christmas tree monsters.
  • Levels 9 and 10 are perhaps the most evil ice levels ever put into a video game. Even speedrunners lose lives.
• Vaporware: The ending promises a game titled Snakes in Space, though the space theme did show up in the Genesis version's exclusive final level.
