• Aluminium Christmas Trees: "Mario Bravado". Spitting and chewing gum really are against the law...in Singapore.
• Base-Breaking Character: Pronto. For some, his comic relief is seriously pushing it, especially when combined with his accent. His antics have even proven a detriment to the Shane Gang's efforts on multiple occasions, particularly when he not only loses the Elementals the gang spent an entire movie trying to recover, but also reveals their existence to all of Slugterra (and by extension every interested greedy villain) by sharing "his heroic story" to everyone he met since. For others, he's quite an enjoyable character and genuinely very funny.
• Cliché Storm: Well, this IS a Nerd Corps action series, after all. And like those shows, it's generally agreed that its still incredibly entertaining despite this, even if the reason might just be as simple as the fact that its Rule of Cool and Rule of Fun personified.
• Game-Breaker: Doc the de-Ghouling slug.
• Germans Love David Hasselhoff: Slugterra is quite popular in Latin America.
• Narm: During Dawn of the Slug, the part where they got out of the elevator to confront Mr. Saturday was just a bit much.
• Periphery Demographic: Let's face it: The female fans are all here for Eli.
• Squick: In the episode Lightwell, Eli came out of a creature through the mouth. He got in from the other end. It's also a Squick in-universe.
