• Moe: The cute character designs and personalities (Genki Girl, Teen Genius, archetypal Tsundere etc) certainly. However the girls also portray badassness much like a Yamato Nadeshiko would portray inner iron which in turn makes them even more alluring because they all more or less fill the slot of the Action Girl and also show how Hot-Blooded they can be just like proper mecha pilots.
• Wangst: Hey, it has teenagers, so what do you expect. Never very excessive however.
