  • Awesome Music: The entire heavy metal/grunge soundtrack which tested out the abilities of the Sega Genesis. You can select which track to play on each course.
  • Goddamned Bats: The patches of oil and gravel which can either mess you up while holding onto bumpers, or stun you at the least opportune times when you're not - and they're everywhere as you progress through the races, with your (hopefully) constant high rate of speed giving you basically no chance of dodging them.
    • Some cars become this later in the game when they gain the ability to change lanes. Better keep an eye on that rear view.
    • Cop cars can be heard from quite a distance, and it's never really clear exactly how close you can get to them without risking arrest for illegal actions. Oh, and unlike Road Rash, you don't have to be flat on your ass for the police to arrest you.
  • Most Wonderful Sound: The "Yeah!" voice byte when you latch onto a car.
  • Spiritual Successor: To Road Rash, an earlier Electronic Arts title that also feature a heavy metal/grunge soundtrack and the concept of cash bonuses for winning games and fighting off opponents.
  • Unintentional Period Piece: Not only does this game have numerous 1990s slang, it came out at the height of the rollerblading craze.
