• Moral Event Horizon: When Nathan Wick feeds Margaret Bellhouse to the Carousel.
• Nightmare Fuel: The town of Widowsbury itself is seen as this to its own citizens. After a powerful storm blew through the town for twelve straight days, it became the beacon for all things supernatural, resulting in the citizens becoming distrustful of anything new that comes to visit or stay.
  • The origin of the carousel. It was once a shapeshifter that once fed off of Nathan Wick's negative emotions and could change into various objects. But even it had its limits and when it was asked to change into a carousel to impress a girl Nathan liked, it became stuck like that. And when the girl politely told Nathan she didn't really love him like he did, the rage he let off made the carousel into a monster that devoured her.
