• Adorkable: Pretty much how all the fans see Deanna's public persona.
• Even Better Sequel: For the most part, fans reacted to the long-awaited followup to Rhombithian, Bless My Psyche, with tremendous excitement and approval.
• Friendly Fandoms: Deanna herself is a huge fan of The Lawrence Arms and Alkaline Trio, and longtime fans of the Chicago punk scene often see Sincere Engineer as picking up the torch of those bands. Sincere Engineer has also toured with The Front Bottoms and The Menzingers and shares a sizable fan overlap with both.
  • Outside the realm of music, Deanna is a huge fan of Norm Macdonald, and "Ceramic Tile" is inspired by a monologue from The Norm Show.
• Memetic Mutation: It's become a tongue-in-cheek "tradition" among Sincere Engineer fans to buy corn dogs (or, failing that, bring them from home) at concerts to hold up as a Raised Lighter Tribute during "Corn Dog Sonnet No. 7" (with many people pointing out that, given the time this would take before the song started, those would end up being dangerously stale corn dogs).
• The Woobie: To the extent the songs are autobiographical, Deanna, so, so much.
