• Broken Base
  • The videos are really fast-paced, don't really feature much lore, and rely more on Stylistic Suck than SMG4 did, what with more gratuitous use of text-to-speech voices, overly nonsensical visuals and sounds, some characters being stuck in permanant T-poses or just being still images moved across the screen, and a lot of distorted models and audio. Depending on your point of view, this is either really funny or so annoying that the Stylistic Suck just unironically sucks.
  • The characterization of some characters is either funny or just cliche Flanderization, like Kirby only caring about food and nothing else, Ribbon and Chuchu being obsessed with Kirby, or Magolor being a greedy asshole who constantly tries to scam people.
• Fandom Rivalry: A minor one with fans of SMG4, ShockHat fans prefer his videos for being a Lighter and Softer alternative to the darker and more dramatic direction SMG4 has gone in recent years. Fans of the latter prefer it specifically because of said darker tone, deeper character development, and better animation.
• Fan Nickname: Some have taken to referring to this series’ version of Commentator Waddle Dee as NerDee.
• Hilarious in Hindsight: "You will never see your other friends again until they are old enough to be used as nostalgia bait for Kirby's Return to Dream Land 4!" Meta Knight, Kirby counted Kirby: Triple Deluxe as Return to Dream Land 2 and Kirby: Planet Robobot as Return to Dream Land 3, so...
  • In" Gooey's Epic Adventure", Gooey tells Ribbon she has a 0.001 chance of appearing in the next Kirby game. Ribbon does appear in the next Kirby game, Kirby's Dream Buffet, hanging onto Adeleine's beret, which acts as a costume for Kirby in the game.
• Most Wonderful Sound:
  • "HAND ME ANOTHER BAG O' THEM CHIPS!"
  • "Barry was a great man. A special man. A great man. A special man." It helps that Mr. Dooter's voice is more goofy sounding compared to others like Halcandra Dee or Gigant Edge.
• Spiritual Successor: Shockhat's videos are clearly meant to be this to pre-2018 SMG4.
