  • Anti-Climax Boss: Thanks to Retroactive Preparation, Ludo has apparently become this. That said, a much more climactic enemy is there to take his placeā€¦
  • Awesomeness Withdrawal: It's easy to experience this since MoringMark isn't exactly consistent with the comic's updates. Especially since the comic went on hiatus from March 2018 to April 2020.
  • Better Than Canon: There's some fans who prefer this comic take on Toffee's motivations and backstory that the canonical one, also his defeat for those who thought the way he was defeated in the show was anticlimatic.
  • Crack Pairing: There are some fans who like to ship Elizabeth/Jam despite them being half-siblings.
  • Crosses the Line Twice: Jam getting bullied for being small and weak when he was younger? Upsetting. His method of revenge (which involves trapping the bullies in a pit and throwing non-poisonous scorpions on them)? Slightly horrifying. Elizabeth's face after this story is told to her? Hilarious.
  • Ensemble Dark Horse: The Marcapoo daughter is fairly popular and has quite a bit of fanart despite only briefly appearing in a single panel of a non-canon comic.
  • Fanon: The entirety of Toffee's backstory.
  • Harsher in Hindsight:
    • In the All There in the Manual post, Elizabeth's Facial Markings getting mistaken for corn stalks instead of a fleur-de-lis are said to be an in-universe Running Gag. This is an Informed Attribute that doesn't come up in the comic itself, but the first time the comic actually does call attention to Elizabeth's cheek marks, it's revealed that she alters them with makeup partly as a result of her inferiority complex over having the weakest magical power in the history of the Butterfly family. Suddenly, the absence of jokes at her expense regarding her cheek marks goes from suspicious to painfully justified.
    • A major part of Elizabeth's character arc involves her lack of cheek marks and the fact that she can't do magic without her wand. After the events of the series finale, Star herself (as well as every living member of the royal family) no longer has cheek marks and can't perform magic period.
  • Jerkass Woobie:
    • Okay, yes, Toffee is utterly reprehensible when it comes to his actions against the Butterfly family, but considering that one of their members committed genocide against his species after promising them a new life as important people in Mewni, it's hard not to feel sorry for him.
    • Jam is one as well. He's a bit of a jerk, but he comes from a post-apocalyptic wasteland and both of his parents are dead (and he watched his dad die, to top it off). Kid really needs a hug.
  • Narm: The awesome moment that is Jam chucking a grenade at Toffee is somewhat ruined when the attacker says this:
    Surprise, you big dummy head.
  • They Wasted a Perfectly Good Character: The Marcapoo daughter opens up a lot of interesting potential for the story and for interactions between her and the other characters, but the comic she appeared in is unfortunately non-canon and she will likely not have any presence in the narrative.
  • They Wasted a Perfectly Good Plot:
  • The Woobie: Elizabeth. Not only does she blame herself for Moon's possession, her backstory also reveals that, in terms of magical power, she's the weakest princess in Mewni history, and she had this revealed to her through Brutal Honesty. The girl really needs a hug.
