- Hilarious in Hindsight: One of the good endings to Ship of Ghouls is that you make it off the ship safely, then you going to a restaurant with sushi. Aka, a 'plate of raw fish' when you expect something like a hamburger. Sushi hamburgers are now a thing.
- Values Dissonance: The whole plot is kicked off by someone threatening to use a bomb to blow up the ship. You definitely couldn't get away with this in a silly kid's book today.
