• Spiritual Antithesis: To Pierrot's earlier Akatsuka revival anime, Osomatsu-san. While the focus on Breakout Character Iyami was reigned in to give spotlight back to the original protagonists, Papa remains as front and center as ever.^note It could also be because they already did a Bakabon-centric spinoff: Shonen Bakabon, which was written for the franchise's original shonen audience unlike -San. While -San has some semblance of a fourth wall, Shinya! couldn’t care less, as half their plots are getting in trouble with some form of media; with one plot in particular poking fun at Pierrot's own history of troubled productions and the roughshod animation that entails.
