- Growing the Beard: Season 2 is much better received thanks to more characterization of the core cast, a larger cast of characters, and just having better plots in general. Having Greg Weisman and Kevin Hopps as writers doesn't hurt.
- They Changed It, Now It Sucks!: Some fans weren't happy about the CGI shift of season two and moving the action to Zahramay Falls (which in turn led to the show gaining an antagonist), feeling this robbed the show of its uniqueness.
- Visual Effects of Awesome: The series has some very beautiful looking animation, throughout both the traditionally 2D animated first season and the CGI for the rest of the series.
