• Funny Moments: The tutorial in the sequel is made up of a bunch of Shepherd's Crossing locals doubting that a city slicker like you can do things like plant seeds or crop wood—and, when you display that you can, they react with over-the-top shock at your prowess.
• Genius Bonus: In the sequel, potatoes are counted as a Main Dish crop, instead of a Side Dish like all other vegetables. All the other Main Dish crops are grains or beans instead. Why? Because agriculturally, potatoes are considered a "staple crop"—i.e., the crop that makes up most of a region's diet.
• Just Here for Godzilla: A fair number of people have only heard of/played the series because Shepherd's Crossing 2 is the single most expensive game on the original DS, with secondhand copies fetching upward of 200 USD, thus making it a Holy Grail for many original DS collectors.
