• Funny Moments: As Shaft violently interrogates Malik, he asks "Do you ever wanna see me again?" Malik answers "No!" Suddenly, a cop car rolls by. Shaft just nods at them and they go on their way. This is followed by:
  Shaft: (to Malik) You ever wanna see me- you answered that, huh? My bad. (gets up; seeing two people watching across the street, flashing his gun at them) What? What?!
• Harsher in Hindsight: As noted in the Trivia tab, producer Scott Rudin's attitude and projections on how the script should have been written came off as racist. Then came the infamous Sony Pictures hacking and email leaks over a decade later where, amongst other things, he said some pretty racist things in regards to President Obama.
