YMMV / Series 7: The Contenders

• Ensemble Dark Horse:
  • Connie (for her surprisingly ruthless competence, but also a few Pet the Dog moments)
  • Lindsay is well-liked for providing a little humor in her approach to the game but also having some moments of vulnerability.
• He's Just Hiding: There's room for a lot of this, given the missing footage of Dawn and Jeffrey's fate. Lindsey's fate has a ray of hope given that Franklin wasn't hitting her that hard near the end, her face lacks any sign of damage besides the bloody nose from his first blow, and she had family members nearby already contemplating escape who might have been able to get her away in the confusion afterwards if she wasn't dead. And then there's the deleted scene where Franklin voicing the theory that the deaths on the show are all fake.
• Jerkass Woobie: Multiple contestants, but Dawn and Tony stand out.
• Retroactive Recognition: A very young Merritt Wever from Nurse Jackie and Unbelievable plays Lindsey.
• They Wasted a Perfectly Good Character:
  • Franklin is the least seen of the contenders and it feels like his (probably correct) conspiracy theories could have gotten more attention (although they do have a deleted scene).
  • Lindsay doesn’t have much exploration about how she feels after her first would be gunfight and never even seems to encounter Jeff or Dawn.
