• Alternate Character Interpretation: Does Will start making out with Kayla after admitting that he's always thought they were Like Brother and Sister in an Incest Subtext moment toward his real sister, or is it just an ordinary makeout session as he sheds his platonic feelings toward Kayla?
• Broken Base:
  • The filmmakers were trying to do their best to create a likeable group of characters. Their success in this goal is highly debated as some think the cast is dull.
  • Danielle Harris as Amy. Some fans love Amy's Nice Girl qualities and strength (with Danielle's status as the current reigning Scream Queen helping out), while others feel that Danielle's overacting ruins an already generic and uninteresting character.
• Ensemble Dark Horse: Tamara is the most popular character of the entire series for being an amazing source of comic relief and being an all around Large Ham, special thanks to her providing the weirdest scene of the movie: kissing a presumably dead corpse and acting like there's nothing wrong with it.
• He's Just Hiding: It can be nice to hope that Amy (who remains conscious for a few seconds longer than most people do after being stabbed in the heart), Kayla (who is still able to talk before seemingly succumbing to throat injuries) and Seth (given how eye-gouging alone is often survivable) may have survived their wounds and only passed out from the pain.
• Just Here for Godzilla: Doubly-so. As with the previous film Kane fans were drawn in, many horror fans saw this film just because it was directed by the Soska Sisters, directors of American Mary.
• The Scrappy: Will, who constantly acts as Amy isn't able to control her own life.
