YMMV / SEVENTEEN

Go To

  • Big-Lipped Alligator Moment: The talking jam in "My My".
  • Broken Base: There exists a mild schism within the fandom on whether their "Freshteen" concepts were better or their newer "mature" concepts were the step in the right direction. Many just choose to make peace that their "Freshteen" days aren't their main focus anymore and enjoy their more EDM-focused songs with just as much vigor.
  • Epic Riff:
    • The brass in "Very Nice".
    • The guitar in "Clap".
    • The guitar in "Call Call Call".
  • Fandom-Enraging Misconception: Assuming the group has 17 members just because of the bands' name. Though this is justified because of the sheer ridiculous number of times the boys had to explain that the total number of members = 13 added to the 3 units (vocal, hip hop, and performance) becomes 17. It's easy to tell that they themselves are tired of this misconception being brought up every time but are too polite to show actual annoyance.
  • Friendly Fandoms: With Monsta X's fandom, Monbebes. The two groups are practically best friends, which encourages a similar behaviour among the fans, including voting for each other, supporting each others' groups, and adorable fan art.
  • Germans Love David Hasselhoff: Japan loves the J-line note , especially Jeonghan.
  • Idiosyncratic Ship Naming: Joshua and Vernon are sometimes called Team Rocket as a reference to their duet from the Teen,Age album.
  • Memetic Mutation:
    • "Wonwoo/Minghao have the only brain cell in the group." note
    • "The K-pop dude" note
    • "The Future of K-Pop" note
    • Seungkwan and "Wi-Fi" note
  • Sweet Dreams Fuel: The music video for "Oh My!".
    • The Freshteen note  concepts in general.
  • Tearjerker:
    • The group meeting their parents on "Seventeen Project", full stop.
    • The announcement that S.Coups would be taking a hiatus due to his recent diagnosis of anxiety during their Ode To You world tour.
    • Their documentary "Hit The Road" hits many emotional points that is sure to make one cry, including but not limited to: various members' health issues during their world tour, S.Coups' extremely emotional interview about his anxiety and subsequent hiatus, Joshua delving into his emotional state before debut, and so on.
  • WTH, Costuming Department?:
    • Dino and Vernon's hair during the "Mansae" era.
    • Mingyu's bright orange hair in the music video for "Check In".
