  • Aluminum Christmas Trees: Unlike several of the other primitive weapons, the Eoka Pistol, a low-tier shotgun type weapon, actually existed. A single example was created by the EOKA guerrillas in the 1950's.
  • Best Known for the Fanservice: Inverted in the beginning, since it was only male frontal nudity, but yeah. You start balls-out naked, and that's about what half the internet knows about the game. There's a mosaic by default, but it can be disabled. Pants are a highly treasured bit of loot.
  • Broken Base:
    • You'll see this about a lot of things, but one of the biggest ones was the update that allowed twig structures and ladders to be placed within building-blocked areas. Part of the fanbase was delighted, as it expanded possibilities for raiding, while the other part was livid, arguing that it rendered many base designs useless and made it far too easy to raid in early game, among other reasons. Some people also think the change sorta had the right idea but was executed in the wrong fashion.
    • The later update that permanently set player's character models based on their Steam ID. Half the base saw it as an interesting way to have players have themselves represented in-game differently while the other half saw it as being unable to choose what they wanted to look like, especially after the long awaited addition of the female models.
  • Demonic Spiders: Wolves and bears should be avoided by early-game players where possible, and getting ambushed by either can result in a quick death without the right equipment. Wolves die quickly to a salvaged shortsword and won't do that much damage against even low-level metal armor, but bears (that aren't outright stuck on something) pretty much need decent firearms to kill safely. Oh, and a boss version of this is the attack helicopter, which will ignore anyone who is naked and doesn't have any ranged weapons, but the very sound of its rotors becomes utterly terrifying for anyone who is actually clothed and has so much as a crossbow in their inventory.
  • Good Bad Bugs: Back in the alpha stage of the game, the physics were a bit off. For example, shooting someone morphed their bodies like jello.
