YMMV / Running Scared (1986)

• Awesome Music: The entire soundtrack, but special mention goes to the opening theme.
• Retroactive Recognition: Future Today and Inside Edition anchor Deborah Norville can be seen on a billboard that was made during her days as a news anchor for WMAQ-TV, NBC's owned and operated station in Chicago.
• Special Effects Failure: The "snow" looks like someone sprayed shaving cream all over Chicago.
• Unintentional Period Piece: When Danny and Ray are having second thoughts about retiring to Florida near the end of the movie, they mention that Florida doesn't have a basketball team, and the only major league baseball they have is spring training. Since the 1990's, the NBA now has two teams in Florida (Miami Heat and Orlando Magic), while Major League Baseball has two teams there as well (Miami Marlins - formerly the Florida Marlins - and Tampa Bay Rays - formerly the Tampa Bay Devil Rays).
• Values Dissonance: It’s a 1980s cop movie, so this is to be expected. The film laughs off and otherwise makes light of many clear examples of police harassment that simply would not fly in a film with more modern sensibilities.
