  • Accidental Aesop: Keep stocked up on tampons at all times! If not for yourself, for others who are in dire need.
  • Complete Monster: The ancient Fallen Angel known to the world as "Ethan Sacks" is a vampiric monster that seeks to enforce his own brutal form of patriarchy. With contacts across the city, Ethan has wealthy attorney James Fuller "tithe" him women so Ethan may murder them and erase their entire bloodlines. This is the fate of countless women before he encounters heroine Cherie, with Ethan making a game of his pursuit that if Cherie can survive until sunrise he will let her go. Ethan proceeds to murder anyone in his way with violent relish and full intent to murder Cherie's young daughter once he finally catches her.
  • Esoteric Happy Ending: Cherie does manage to vanquish Sacks and we have a triumphant girlbossy ending with Cherie returning home to her daughter. However said daughter’s father is now dead, as is Cherie’s best friend and said best friends family. When Cherie comes down from whatever adrenaline rush she’s on she’s going to realize that and have to tell her daughter that her father is no longer with them.
  • Fandom Rivalry: A small one with Barbarian, as both are horror movies with black, female leads that double as dissections/satires of gender dynamics. Though it borders on Friendly Fandoms far more, as the observation is usually less charged and more just an observation of the similarities.
  • Squick:
    • The initial plot twist (that Ethan is tracking Cherie by smelling her period blood) is a tad offputting, even if the viewer is mature enough to not be grossed out by periods, simply by virtue of how creepily intimate and invasive it is.
    • Cherie goes to a restroom and tries to clean up her blood as best as she can with the only thing available, bleach wipes. Her cries of pain as she uses them on her gashes are bad enough, but they do not compare to her screams when she has to use one of those wipes as a feminine wipe. Do Not Try This at Home.
