YMMV / Rollo and the Spirit of the Woods

Go To

  • Accidental Innuendo: When Millie asks how Rölli is able to sleep in the middle of the day, he replies that he's always been good in bed. His coy tone and her covering her smile in response don't help.
  • Alternate Character Interpretation: How did the Old Chief know where to find the elves' cemetery in a land he had only just arrived in? Did he see the place in his dreams like he saw the elves' village? Or did he spot the place through his spyglass?
  • Hilarious in Hindsight: Lackey is the ambitious adviser to his tribe's chieftain whose headgear resembles a horned Viking helmet, and he's on the front line in waging war against the elves whose home the tribe (which has other Viking vibes as well) has taken for itself. Fifteen years later, he has become an ambitious and sadistic Viking king who really loves butchering Christians. Oh, and he appears in the same franchise with a character named Rollo.
  • Moral Event Horizon: Lackey crosses this when he causes Rölli's burning arrow to set the elves' camp ablaze instead of letting Rölli shoot it harmlessly into the sea. This is followed by Millie's death that causes evil to win in the Balance Between Good and Evil, and the sun is covered by the moon indefinitely. Lackey marvels at this while Rölli cries over Millie's lifeless body. A deleted scene takes this further by having Lackey mock the depressed Rölli for mourning over Millie, try to take for himself the rolley tribe's leadership and declare that he'll make things worse for everyone even though things are already bad for everyone due to the absence of sunlight.
