• Friendly Fandoms: The game's fanbase has quite a bit of overlap with that of the animated series Hilda, due to both works being about young girls encountering magical creatures from Scandinavian folklore.
• Tear Jerker: The Jakobsen family's state after Eva's death. It's clear the whole family is suffering from her passing, and they're slowly falling apart as a result (as is their home). Henrik is so wracked with grief he can't even properly take care of his children anymore, and Tove (who is now forced to act as her brother's parental figure) lives in a sort of denial of what happened, unwilling to wrangle with the events surrounding Eva's death. Only Lars is innocent to the shadow of misery hanging over his family, and all of this is especially emphasized by the happy memories we see in the Nightmare Sequences showing just how wonderful things were for the family before Eva died.
