  • Was Ben Baley hostile towards Gladia because she's a Spacer? Or because he knows about her relationship with Elijah Baley? On that note, is he hostile towards Daneel because Daneel is a robot or because Elijah asked for Daneel to be at his deathbed instead of Ben?
• Genius Bonus: The constant Mandamus uses in his plan to irradiate the Earth, 2.72, is actually Euler's number, better known to algebra students as the mathematical constant e.
• Harsher in Hindsight: Asimov's half-joke about Three Mile Island becoming a place of ill omen would likely have been somewhat modified had he published his book one year later.
