YMMV / Robin Robin

Go To

  • Awesome Art: The needle-felted puppets are beautifully crafted, the stop-motion animation is just as high-quality as can be expected from Aardman, and the set designs and environments are just stunning.
  • Creepy Cute: Cat may be the villain, and her sadistic personality can be as frightening to the viewers as it is to the other characters. But she's still a fluffy cat, and her design, combined with her soft voice, can be oddly adorable to cat lovers. It helps that, In-Universe, even one of the mice loves cats.
  • Funny Moments:
    • Dad Mouse tells Robin that while she may not be a mouse, she is also a Mouse. His children react in confusion while Dad himself lampshades how weird it sounded.
    • Dink really likes kittens, apparently not registering the fact that cats eat mice. This leads to this exchange after Cat is defeated:
Dink: Is the cat also family?
Dad: No! She tried to eat us
    Dink: Because she loves us?
Dad: No, because she is a predator!
  • Heartwarming Moments:
    • Dad Mouse adopting Robin when he finds her as an egg.
    • Dad Mouse is surprisingly patient with Robin, even though it is implied her actions end up limiting the number of houses his family can steal from.
    • One of the Mouse kids bringing back a coin for the Magpie, knowing that he likes shiny stuff and he just lost all of his belongings.
  • Sweet Dreams Fuel: This whole short is so sweet! The needle-felted puppets are so pleasant to look at, the relationship between Robin and her family is so heartwarming... it's safe to say that this short is soft and fuzzy both literally and metaphorically.
